Responsibilities
  • Delivering service:
    Provide supported opportunities for people to improve quality of life, develop skills, and make decisions about their future.
  • Act as a keyworker for a group of people, leading coordination and delivery of their support within P3 and liaising with other services.
  • Manage day‑to‑day tasks within the hostel, ensuring safety and support for residents.
  • Prepare properties when residents leave, including cleaning, ordering stock, and coordinating furniture and belongings.
  • Provide flexible cover at short notice, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Support both Artemis House and Midland Lodge as required.
  • Follow P3 policies and style of operation: general practical and emotional support, respond to chaotic behaviour, provide responsive support, liaise with referral teams, participate in staff support, assess and review future housing and support needs, maintain records, facilitate resettlement decisions, arrange appointments with professionals, give advice on budgeting, debt management, and welfare benefits, encourage involvement, provide medication support if required, and participate in on‑call cover.
  • Share responsibility for the effective use of information systems and procedures regarding people and other records (e.g., finance and staff communications).
  • Be a member of the staff team to provide a safe, sound and supportive environment; participate with other staff in a broad range of activities and services tailored to individual circumstances and preferences, aiming to reduce support levels appropriately.
  • Handle complaints per P3 procedures; contribute to health and safety practices, including fire drills and risk assessments; report concerns to line‑management; and attend health and safety training.
  • Undertake the Staff Induction Programme and assist in induction and training of new staff, students and volunteers as requested.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision meetings, training, team development sessions and other meetings; report back to the team as appropriate.
  • Foster equality, diversity, and rights of others by ensuring people are respected and valued; promote rights and needs of P3 service users; work within P3’s equality and diversity policy.
  • Undertake any other duties and specialisms required to maintain or enhance P3 services; occasionally travel to other locations if necessary; adhere to safeguarding training and procedures; transport people if necessary using own transport.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required).
  • Minimum one year’s professional experience working with vulnerable adults (essential); at least three years’ experience in care and/or support services within another social care setting (desirable).
  • Relevant personal experience (desirable).
  • Knowledge of support needs, local authority regulations, alcohol and substance misuse issues, benefits system, housing provision, external partner agencies, and basic computer skills (desirable).
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in a social care field (desirable).
  • Evidence of commitment to personal and career development relevant to the post (desirable).
  • Commitment to people involvement and empowerment, promotion of equality of opportunity for those who have experienced oppression and disadvantage, recognition of diversity, understanding of training and learning opportunities, and enabling rights for service users (essential).
  • Able to work on own initiative and prioritise workload; work as part of a team; establish constructive relationships with providers and agencies; demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills; maintain accurate records; respond flexibly to the needs of people (essential).
