The Domestic Abuse Specialist Team (DAST) is seeking a Family Practitioner to join the team, working directly with children and families affected by domestic abuse in Nuneaton & Bedworth.
As a Family Practitioner, you will provide targeted, trauma‑informed support to families, focusing on improving safety, strengthening relationships, and promoting positive outcomes for children. You will work holistically with both parents and children, using evidence‑based approaches to address the impact of domestic abuse and support sustainable behavioural change.
LocationThe role is primarily based in Nuneaton & Bedworth, with work taking place across community settings, including family homes and partner agencies within the local area.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver specialist interventions to families, helping them understand the impact of domestic abuse, build resilience, and promote behaviour change.
- Contribute to multi‑agency working, ensuring that the voice of the child is central to all interventions and safeguarding remains a priority.
- Support child development and parenting capacity in a safe environment.
- Experience working directly with children and families in safeguarding or domestic abuse contexts.
- Strong understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on child development, parenting capacity, and family dynamics.
- Experience delivering one‑to‑one and/or group interventions is desirable.
- Minimum of one year demonstrably effective continuous Family Support Work or as a Family Practitioner.
- Supportive managers who provide recognition and a robust supervision policy focussed on wellbeing and workload.
