Assistant Store Manager - Nutley/Kingsland

Pay Range: $32.00 - $47.75 USD

Job Description: The Assistant Store Manager leads day‑to‑day operations, sales, and service objectives in a store. The role focuses on growing customer relationships by delivering TD’s convenience, sales, and advice model. This leader manages the team, maintains compliance, and makes decisions on teller and platform lines.

Depth & Scope:

  • Leads a team of advice and service colleagues to achieve individual and store objectives resulting in legendary customer and colleague experience.
  • Provides day‑to‑day leadership ensuring efficient delivery of personalized/complex service and advice while maintaining compliance.
  • Guides the team in overseeing complex or diverse sales advice activities involving multiple steps and systems.
  • Uses knowledge of financial concepts, products, and services to deliver end‑to‑end advice, building customer trust.
  • Drives and reinforces advice capabilities through observation, coaching, and communication.
  • Leverages local market knowledge to support advice recommendations and empower customers.
  • Handles critical high‑risk issues, determines appropriate resolution, and drives improvement.
  • Coaches the advisory team on advice strategies and product acumen.
  • Establishes work direction and ownership on delivering advice and achieving objectives.
  • Delivers end‑to‑end advice, providing information and tools for financial management.
  • Identifies advice opportunities and referrals to support business growth.
  • Participates in community events and promotes the TD brand.
  • Manages lead generation and prospect engagement, including self‑generated leads, partner referrals, outbound calls, SMS, and appointments.

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years working with customers or sales.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and decision‑making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking products preferred.
  • Experience with consumer and residential lending preferred.
  • Must maintain active NMLS registration and notary license preferred.

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Create a warm, engaging environment for customer interactions.
  • Attract, acquire, and retain customers to increase profitability.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partners for referrals.
  • Support customers during challenging times with expertise.
  • Ensure optimal scheduling and compliance.
  • Act as escalation point for problem resolution.
  • Personalize experiences to turn goals into reality.
  • Understand and support the bank’s customer service strategy.
  • Maintain professional and inviting store spaces.

Shareholder Accountabilities:

  • Lead operational compliance for all store operations.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day processes and quality of work.
  • Ensure efficient store operations and audit compliance.
  • Perform store operation activities such as account maintenance and cash management.
  • Develop and lead the Store Operational Excellence plan.
  • Manage vault audits and identify risks.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulations.
  • Enhance process performance and support policy adherence.

Employee/Team Accountabilities:

  • Lead and support a high‑performing team.
  • Provide feedback, performance reviews, coaching, and development.
  • Embed TD’s shared commitments and ensure policy compliance.
  • Share knowledge and foster good working relationships.
  • Support a culture where issues are escalated positively.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection for a diverse workforce.

Physical Requirements: Minimum daily physical activities include standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lb. with occasional lifting of heavier loads. Sustained sedentary work and operating standard office equipment are also required.
