The Supervisor, Center for Discovery and Innovation – CDI Lab will function under the supervision of an Associate Member or Member of the Center for Discovery and Innovation (CDI). This role will be responsible for maintaining the daily operational functions of the laboratory and conducting experiments. The supervisor will oversee and coordinate research and development activities.
Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate personnel engaged in performing research and physical analyses/tests.
- Maintain daily operational laboratory functions including ordering supplies, managing inventory, and ensuring proper storage and disposal of chemicals and waste.
- Design and perform experiments independently within assigned projects.
- Knowledgeable of laboratory protocols and procedures; lead and direct new students and lab personnel.
- Serve as senior technical lab member, train and supervise personnel in data analysis, and assist in troubleshooting.
- Prepare and maintain electronic strain database and summary reports using required software.
- Maintain instruments, equipment, freezers, and strain collections necessary for laboratory work.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret data and research results.
- Perform other position-related duties as requested.
- Hold a Ph.D. in a relevant science with a minimum of four years as a postdoctoral research fellow,
or a Master’s Degree with at least five years of related research experience. - Minimum of two first-author publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, or manuscripts in preparation.
- Experience conducting and designing research projects.
- Solid working knowledge of the subject matter.
- Ability to develop and mentor others.
- Ability to identify and seek needed information and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Competitive salary starting at $72,072.00 annually, plus benefits. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, and market factors.
