. This position supports the daily operational functions of the laboratory and oversees research and development activities.

The Center for Discovery and Innovation- CDI was established by Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) as a translational research enterprise. Since its inception in 2019, the CDI has expanded to 39 labs, over 200 scientists, and supports more than 78 NIH and DoD grants. Areas of expertise include genomics, epigenetics, drug resistance, stem cell biology, drug discovery, diagnostics, biomarker development, rheumatology, and pharmacology.

• Supervise and coordinate activities of personnel performing research and physical analyses for development projects.
• Maintain daily laboratory operations, including ordering supplies, tracking inventory, and ensuring proper storage and disposal of chemicals.
• Design and perform experiments independently within assigned projects.
• Provide guidance on laboratory protocols, lead and direct new students and personnel, and serve as the senior technical member.
• Train and supervise lab personnel in data analysis, troubleshoot data collection, and interpret experimental results.
• Prepare and maintain electronic strain databases and summary reports using laboratory software.
• Maintain instruments, equipment, freezers, and strain collections necessary for experimental work.
• Compile, analyze, and interpret data and research findings.
• Perform additional position‑related duties as requested.
• Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

• Ph.D. in a relevant science with at least four years as a postdoctoral research fellow, or an M.S. with at least five years of related research experience.
• Two first‑author articles published or in preparation in high‑quality, peer‑reviewed scientific journals.
• Experience in designing and conducting research projects.
• Solid working knowledge of the subject area.
• Ability to develop and mentor others.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Starting at $72,072.00 annually. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted rate is a good‑faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role and does not reflect the full value of the total rewards package.
