Overview
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Center for Discovery & Innovation (CDI) at Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). The NIH-funded R01 project focuses on improving the implementation of evidence-based interventions in community and clinical settings to enhance mental and behavioral health outcomes for perinatal populations. The position involves collaborating with Dr. Elissa Faro and a multidisciplinary team to design, conduct, and analyze qualitative and mixed-methods studies and to support participatory and partner-informed implementation approaches.
The CDI was established by Hackensack Meridian Health as an academic basic and translational research enterprise to translate science into clinic practice and improve patient outcomes. Areas of expertise include genomics, epigenetics, drug resistance, stem cell biology, drug discovery, diagnostics and biomarker development, rheumatology and pharmacology.
Responsibilities- Conduct research and laboratory tasks and experiments under direct supervision.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data; create reports from analyses of observations and conclusions.
- Present findings to higher-level staff and in internal and external research forums (scientific conferences, lab meetings, institutional seminars).
- Address moderately complex issues; refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Participate in grant and manuscript writing as appropriate.
- Assist with other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Skills and Abilities
Required
- A Ph.D. in a scientific discipline.
- Minimum publication record or in-preparation of two articles as first author in a reputable peer-reviewed journal.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to conduct independent research.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Technical laboratory techniques (e.g., RT-PCR, RNA/DNA extraction, staining, embedding, sectioning).
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
Skills And Abilities
Preferred
- Experience in a BSL-2/BSL-3 lab facility (preferred).

Minimum rate of $61,008.48 annually. The posted pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay at the time of posting and may reflect a portion of a competitive total rewards package.
