Job Description & How to Apply Below
True Connect is True Manufacturing’s cloud-based IoT monitoring platform for commercial refrigeration. The Technical Communications Specialist position will develop and control True Connect’s written knowledge: the documentation customers use to succeed with the product, and the release communications that keep internal and external stakeholders aligned on what is being released, when, and what changed.

This is the first position dedicated to this function. The position inherits no style guide, no templates, and no backlog of finished articles — this position will be responsible for designing and building the documentation system and then responsible for creating and managing it, with direct access to the engineers and product team who hold the knowledge.

The writing is the craft; the presenting is the culture. This position requires a strong writer who can stand in front of stakeholders and walk them through each software release. Individuals who prefer to stay behind the scenes will not enjoy this role.

This position serves as a foundational step towards a future role in product definition — drafting PRDs and user stories in partnership with product leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for and management of True Connect’s documentation strategy including but not limited to deciding what gets documented, for whom, and to what standard.

Determination of True Connect’s documentation system to define, build, and govern the information architecture, style guide, templates, and publishing workflow.

Manage and design True Connect Release Notes, ensuring accuracy at release cadence to create and provide documentation clearly explaining how the product actually behaves.

Coordinate and manage True Connect release and stakeholder communications, internal and external, including but not limited to sprint reports, timeline communications, and stakeholder presentations: exercises independent judgment in selecting what is communicated from each release and determines the voice, technical depth, and framing appropriate to each audience.

Responsible for facilitating cross-department collaboration with the True Connect product team and engineering to turn subject-matter-expert knowledge into customer-ready content.

The Technical Communications Specialist for True Connect is an office-based role. Regular, predictable on-site attendance is required. Eligibility for up to one (1) remote workday per week may be permitted, subject to business needs and departmental guidelines.

Perform core job responsibilities through regular in-person collaboration, including participation in meetings, team discussions, and cross-functional coordination.

Collaborate with fellow team members and leadership in a shared work environment to support innovation and timely decision-making, problem-solving, and operational effectiveness.

Maintain a consistent on-site presence to support and respond to day-to-day business needs, including attendance of scheduled meetings and real-time collaboration as needed to ensure alignment of department and company priorities.

Meet regularly with manager in-person to align on workload, priorities, performance, and ongoing professional development.

Bachelor’s degree required.

Five or more years of related experience in technical writing for software or SaaS products.

A portfolio is required.

Demonstrated ability to learn a technical product deeply and translate expert knowledge into content non-experts can act on.

Experience establishing documentation standards or systems — not only writing or working within ones that already exist.

Preferred Qualifications B2B SaaS, IoT, or connected-hardware domain experience.

Product exposure: user stories, PRDs, acceptance criteria, or backlog collaboration.

Modern documentation tooling: help-center platforms, Confluence, docs-as-code, or structured authoring.

An AI-forward writing practice you can demonstrate.

The hours for this position are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Company-paid background check required upon hire.
