Travel Nurse RN – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care
Location: Oak Bluffs, MA (facility in Oak Bluffs, 02557).
Agency: Fusion Medical Staffing.
Pay: $2,119 to $2,254 per week.
Shift: Night shifts – 5 days x 8 hours.
Contract Duration: 13 weeks.
Start Date: 2/2/2026.
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse for a 13‑week travel assignment in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. You will provide comprehensive, critical care to patients in the intensive care unit, operating life‑support equipment, administering advanced treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as an ICU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
- TNCC, NIHSS certification
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
The ICU Registered Nurse provides critical care to patients, assessing and monitoring critically ill patients, operating life‑support equipment, administering advanced treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The role requires strong critical care skills, advanced clinical judgment, excellent communication, and commitment to patient safety and professional ethics.
Essential Work Functions- Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to subtle changes in condition
- Administer complex medications and treatments according to approved critical care techniques
- Operate and manage advanced life support equipment
- Ensure patient safety and comfort in high‑acuity ICU environments
- Document interventions and patient responses in the medical record in a timely manner
- Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring, including arterial lines, central venous pressure, and pulmonary artery catheters
- Provide education to patients and families regarding the ICU environment, treatments, and recovery expectations
- Communicate closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
- Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures and technologies through ongoing education and training
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and hospital safety standards
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ICU patient outcomes and operational efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Read, write, and communicate in English
- Follow written and verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with professional and ancillary personnel
- Technical/motor skills for fine manipulation during procedures
- Mental resilience to handle frequent contact with the public and deadlines under pressure
- Good visual acuity and effective communication ability
