The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements. This position records all balance sheet and income statement activity on a monthly basis, using GAAP accounting.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES- Demonstrates personal and professional integrity, adheres to company’s policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules and regulations.
- Prepares accurate financial statements according to schedule.
- Researches and analyzes financial activity and summarizes financial status.
- Reviews and understands general ledger activities.
- May work with other departments (Structure and Finance, Asset Management) to resolve discrepancies; recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Assists auditors with the year-end audit.
- Assists with special accounting projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Experience:
This position requires over 1 year up to 2 years of prior professional accounting experience, preferably in a real estate environment.
Certifications/Licenses:
Seeking the following certification is preferred for this position:
Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.).
Skills:
Keyboarding skills are required for this position.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook are required for this position.
Annual Base Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000. This position is eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus program.
