Senior Accountant

Pay: $100,000 - $120,000

Schedule: Hybrid work model, with one designated day per week on-site at our Oak Brook, IL location.

Reports To: Controller

The Heartland Roadshow, established in 2009, is a premier buyer of estate jewelry, precious metals, gold and silver coins, and collectibles. If you’ve ever seen “Antiques Roadshow”, this is similar to what we do. We set up boutique “buying events” at various hotel locations throughout the region, where folks come to sell us their estate items - primarily gold, silver, coins, and watches.

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in maintaining the integrity of our financial records, managing balance sheet functions, and supporting financial reporting. Must have strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Own the balance sheet reconciliation process.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries.
• Analyze balance sheet variances and investigate and resolve discrepancies proactively.
• Oversee Accounts Receivable including tracking balances and monitoring outstanding balances.
• Assist with revenue recognition and data analysis.
• Support the preparation of the financial statements.
• Prepare audit documentation and address audit inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and reinforce internal control procedures.
• Identify workflow efficiencies and help update standard operating procedures.
• Assist with resolving customer check issues.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Experience:
  
  4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Certifications:
  
  CPA
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Experience with ERP systems
• Understanding of US GAAP
