Legal Assistant

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join a fiduciary and care management organization serving clients and families facing complex financial, medical, and personal circumstances. This is a Contract position based in Oak Brook, Illinois, supporting leadership with legal-administrative coordination, client documentation, and time-sensitive case activities. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and a compassionate, detail-oriented approach when working with sensitive matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the director's schedule by arranging client meetings, appointments, site visits, and other time-sensitive commitments.
  • Assemble materials and background information in advance of meetings, court appearances, and client-related discussions so leadership is well prepared.
  • Maintain organized digital records by processing incoming mail, updating client files, and ensuring documentation is accurately stored in a paper-light environment.
  • Place orders for client-related items and help arrange outside support services based on individual needs and timelines.
  • Communicate with vendors, medical offices, and other service providers to confirm services, obtain updates, and resolve routine issues.
  • Answer inbound calls with discretion, route matters to the appropriate party, and elevate urgent concerns when necessary.
  • Track outstanding medical records and provider documentation, following through to help keep case files complete and current.
  • Assist with fiduciary-related paperwork, status tracking, and deadline monitoring to support accurate and timely case management.
  • Prepare and submit court and legal documents electronically, including filings that require careful calendaring and procedural accuracy.

The pay range for this position is 25 to 30. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Hired contract/contract professionals are also eligible to enroll in our company 401(k) plan.
