Opportunity Overview:

Sterling Engineering is proud to partner with a long-standing client in the electrical industry who is currently seeking a Test Automation Engineer for a contract role extending into 2026.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone skilled in LabVIEW and test automation. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement automated test systems used to ensure quality and performance of products.

Contract employees are eligible for full benefits through Sterling Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test systems to support new product development and production testing.
  • Develop LabVIEW-based applications for test execution, data acquisition, and automated measurement.
  • Interpret product specifications, test requirements, and electrical schematics to build appropriate test solutions.
  • Interface with hardware and software teams to define test architecture and ensure compatibility with product designs.
  • Integrate test hardware such as oscilloscopes, DAQs, power supplies, and signal generators.
  • Create and maintain test documentation, including procedures, reports, and user guides.
  • Analyze test results to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous product improvement.
  • Support the transition of test systems to production environments and provide training to relevant personnel.
  • Ensure systems meet industry and company standards for safety, quality, and performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in LabVIEW development for test automation applications.
  • Familiarity with NI Test Stand is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits, instrumentation, and signal processing.
