Key Responsibilities- Supervise and develop the buyers, encouraging teamwork and ensuring the achievement of purchasing objectives.
- Manage the annual financial budget for the cluster by forecasting in company systems.
- Lead the development and execution of commodity and sourcing strategies through coordination with Central Engineering, PDP, and the Global Commodity team, maximizing leverage across regions.
- Design and implement highly technical supply‑base management strategies for critical suppliers of hydraulic systems for the US and align with other global regions.
- Drive supplier selection, negotiation, and performance maintenance to meet expectations.
- Execute sourcing and support production ramp‑up of critical programs such as the Next Gen Combine and Next Gen Sprayer, including components like piston pumps & motors, valves, orbital steering valves, radial piston motors, hydrostats, and braking systems.
- Negotiate long‑term contracts with tier‑1, tier‑2, tier‑3 suppliers to ensure quality, supply continuity, price stability, and cost reduction.
- Oversee technical reviews and SSP evaluations to inform future strategy.
- Generate technical cost reductions via TCE, ZBC, and deep knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Support Supplier Quality Engineering activities (PSA, APQP, PPAP, IRW, PA, PR, Technical Reviews, QRA, business cases).
- Manage high‑visibility suppliers, resolve issues, and conduct negotiations.
- Telecommute up to 3 days per week (depending on business needs); travel up to 25% (mostly domestic, occasional overseas).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a directly related field.
- 10 years of experience as a sourcing or purchasing specialist, with each of the following:
- Analyzing, selecting, recommending, approving, and auditing suppliers for different product platforms.
- Hydraulic systems including valves, actuators, pumps, motors, and accumulators.
- Reading and interpreting hydraulic circuits, specifications, and compliance documentation.
- Hydraulic marketplace and supply base knowledge.
- Designing/developing hydraulic systems and alternate architectures (distributed, multi‑pump, flow summation).
- Experience with SAP Ariba, SAP S/4
HANA MM, ENOVIA Engineering Central, Cadenas PART. - Team Viewer and Microsoft Power Platforms (Power Automate, Power BI) for data analysis.
- Supplier negotiation, VAVE, market testing, resourcing, rationalization, Make/Buy decisions, and “best‑place‑to‑buy” development.
