SummaryThe Project Surveyor is responsible for managing and performing a variety of land survey projects. The Project Surveyor will provide technical leadership, mentor staff, and collaborate closely with engineers, clients, and public agencies. This role is responsible for overseeing survey operations from fieldwork through final deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and high-quality service to clients.

- Perform, manage, and oversee land surveying projects including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, record drawing surveys, and construction staking services.
- Prepare, review, and approve survey maps, legal descriptions, and related documents.
- Supervise, train, and mentor survey field crews and technical staff.
- Review field data, calculations, and survey deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct boundary research and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate survey activities with engineers, planners, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with state statutes, local ordinances, and professional surveying standards.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
- Maintain organized project records and ensure timely project delivery.
- Uphold safety policies and promote safe work practices in both field and office environments.
- Represent the company professionally in client meetings and project discussions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and company goals.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant surveying experience.
- Strong knowledge of boundary law, surveying principles, and state regulations.
- Experience with survey equipment and data collection methods.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (preferred).
- Experience supervising survey staff and field crews (preferred).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and industry-standard survey software (preferred).
- Prior experience working with public agencies and survey recording processes (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Ability to process, analyze, and adjust survey data with high accuracy.
- Strong QA/QC, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Positive, professional attitude with a willingness to work extra hours when needed.
- Proactively seeks opportunities to learn new skills and innovative solutions.
- Primarily working in an office setting.
- Work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Ability to be flexible with schedule to work additional hours and/or weekends as project deadlines demand.
- Occasional travel to job sites.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time if needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time if needed.
- Ability to traverse uneven/muddy/wet/snowy terrain while on the job site.
- Must be able to lift 10 lbs. occasionally without help.
