Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Compass Health Center supports patients and families in crisis to overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles, enabling patients to live freely.

About This Role

We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about addressing the current nationwide behavioral health crisis and who will work on interdisciplinary treatment teams within an organization redefining the standard of comprehensive PHP/IOP care. This role will focus on treating patients in our child, adolescent, and adult programs, with provider autonomy to create innovative and individualized treatments.

What You ll Do

• Performing complete initial psychiatric evaluation to determine diagnosis and develop a plan of care including medication prescription, if indicated
• Revising, prescribing, and implementing therapeutic regimen using an interdisciplinary approach
• Monitoring patient progress and providing collaborative treatment and communication with the treatment team
• Providing timely documentation of each encounter
• Ensuring patient/family education regarding clinical condition and relevant aspects of care
• Working in collaboration with treatment team members to ensure quality of care
• Maintaining required level of continuing education and professional development
• Using interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, colleagues and other members of the healthcare team

Who You Are

• Licensed or eligible to obtain licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Illinois
• ANCC National Board Certification in Psychiatry (PMHNP)
• Prescriptive Authority
• DEA license
• RN licensure in the State of Illinois
• DNP or MSN from an accredited nursing program
• CPR certification
• Experience with patients in crisis
• 1+ years of prescribing experience
• Experience with mood and anxiety, mental health and substance use, OCD and complex anxiety, and trauma
