SCA Health is seeking a Business Office Representative Clerk for the Rush Oak Brook Surgery Center.
Base pay range: $19.00/hr - $24.00/hr

- Provide support by performing business office functions such as medical records, credentialing, admissions/intake, accounts payable, billing, collections, insurance verification, transaction posting, clinical logs, and other duties.
- Schedule surgeries in the computer system, handle calls from physicians’ offices regarding scheduling and related inquiries.
- Answer phone calls courteously, taking messages and transferring to other departments when necessary.
- Pre‑register patients and ensure authorization from physicians’ offices before surgery; complete necessary registration paperwork and use the computer system to generate information for surgical procedures.
- Maintain a log of cancelled appointments.
- Perform clerical duties: photocopying, reporting, mailing surveys, preparing charts, faxing forms, retrieving faxes.
- Maintain a clean, orderly surgery scheduling area.
- Verify all scheduled cases promptly.
- Contact patients with financial responsibility to inform them of payment policies and offer payment options.
- Document insurance verification and patient calls clearly in the patient’s account.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum three years of health‑care experience and at least one year of surgery scheduling experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of surgery scheduling, receptionist and registration duties; ability to handle stress.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
