Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.
About This RoleCompass Health Center has a Child & Adolescent Family Therapist opening focused in our Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs in our Oak Brook office. We are looking for clinicians trained in delivering evidence‑based family therapy in the PHP/IOP levels of care. If you work effectively with patients in crisis, possess an excellent work ethic, feel passionate about patient care, and have the ability to work collaboratively with others, you would be a great fit for our team.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Facilitate family sessions for a caseload of assigned child/adolescent patients and their loved ones.
- Provide guidance and support to patients and family members to promote goals and encourage progress through the program.
- Offer direction to families on effective ways to support patients; discussion topics include safety plans, skill implementation, communication improvement, and creating contracts.
- Give psychoeducation about substance use to loved ones.
- Work with various presenting issues including depression, anxiety, psychosis, and substance abuse.
- Assist in supporting families through phone coaching and follow‑up calls.
- Support patients in crisis.
- Coordinate with the treatment team—attend rounds, regular program meetings, and use electronic communication systems.
- Communicate with outside providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with the treatment team in assessing patients’ progress and need for higher levels of care, stepdowns, or discharge.
- Help families organize effective discharge plans.
- Provide individual support to patients as needed.
- Contribute clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings.
- Chart progress in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in program meetings as needed.
- Work on projects focused on program improvement and the overall growth and development of Compass.
- Psychologist or Master’s‑level therapist (required).
- Hold one of the following licenses:
PhD, PsyD, LCSW, or LCPC (preferred). - 1+ years clinical work experience post‑Master’s (strongly preferred).
- Knowledge and experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other evidence‑based therapies.
- Experience with patients in crisis, ideally in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential settings.
$55,000 – $90,000 USD
