The Village of Oak Brook is seeking qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Human Resources Manager. This position plays a key leadership role in developing, implementing, and administering the Village’s Human Resources programs, policies, and services and works under the supervision of the Assistant Village Manager. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills and experience across HR disciplines, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, and compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee all human resources functions for Village departments, including recruitment, hiring, classification, and compensation.
  • Administer and maintain employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement, and wellness initiatives.
  • Advise department heads on employee relations, labor and employment matters, and policy interpretation.
  • Ensure compliance and reporting with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage the performance evaluation process and coordinate employee training and development initiatives.
  • Review and update personnel policies and procedures as needed.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and leadership regarding workplace policies and culture.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, preferably in a public sector or municipal setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern HR practices, employment law, and compensation systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
Compensation and Benefits

This is a full‑time, exempt position with a salary range of $90,556.34 – $, with an anticipated starting salary of $, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is benefits and pension eligible through the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension plan (IMRF).
