Mon 0630‑1700, Tue Off, Wed 0730‑1800, Thur 0630‑1700, Fri 0630‑1700.
The Medical Assistant (MA/MA Sr) is a healthcare professional and an essential member of the patient-centered healthcare team. The MA/MA Sr is instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient's visit.
Responsibilities- Maintaining Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Remaining compliant with all organization educational, licensure or certification requirements
- Cross-training and floating as needed to provide services across sites and to maintain optimal clinic operations
- Performing hands‑on patient care: rooming, taking vitals, administering vaccines, specimen collection, and assisting providers as needed
- Completing patient refill requests in accordance with standard system refill protocol
- Other duties as assigned, with full responsibility for patient interactions during clinic sessions
- High school diploma (or GED) required, plus one of the following: MA program completion, EMT‑Basic course, trained on‑the‑job MA with one year health‑care experience, MA Apprentice program completion
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) or equivalent required within 90 days of hire
- 1 year of healthcare experience required; preferred 1 year as medical assistant or related credentialed experience
- For MA Sr: HS Diploma or GED required; one of the following certification pathways required:
- Military Medic/Corpsman training (must obtain required certifications within 6 months of hire)
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant via one of the following:
- Credentialed in A ‑OE (Assessment‑Based Recognition in Order Entry)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- NRCMA—Medical Assistant through the National Association for Health Professionals
- CCMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
- Certified Medical Assistant through the National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE)
- Certified Paramedic
- Advanced EMT
- Graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program with current active LPN license
- Other approved certification maintained by Froedtert Human Resources
