Senior Field Recruiter @ Truck Country | SHRM-CP
Plans, directs and coordinates activities of employees in the Parts Department to facilitate customer satisfaction with the quality of parts purchases and timeliness of service/repair work. Manages parts purchasing, pricing and inventory to meet profitability goals of the department/location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):- Supervise and direct Parts Department personnel engaged in ordering, receiving, shelving/stocking, inventorying, issuing, shipping and delivering truck parts/equipment.
- Develop, implement and maintain effective work processes and procedures designed to improve efficiency and expedite workflow.
- Partner with Service Department and regularly review order/sales data to determine adequacy of stock levels and negotiate with vendors to purchase truck parts and materials at best cost.
- Analyze customer volume and demand, along with product line supply and/or manufacturing capacity, and other factors to establish pricing strategies that maximize margins.
- Exercise appropriate inventory management controls to ensure optimum stocking levels, safekeeping of inventory and core returns reimbursements.
- Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
- Develop annual forecast and manage department budget to drive Parts Department sales growth.
- Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Manage difficult or emotional customer situations; respond promptly to customer needs; solicit customer feedback to improve service; respond to requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
- Balance team and individual responsibilities; exhibit objectivity and openness to others' views; contribute to building a positive team spirit; put success of team above own interests; support everyone's efforts to succeed.
- Include staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement.
- Inspire and motivate others to perform well.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and accepts feedback from others.
- Identify ways to improve and promote quality and monitor own work to ensure quality.
- Other duties are required and assigned.
- Occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; work well in group problem solving situations.
Required:
- Must have current, valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Bachelor's degree (B.
A./B.S.) in related field from four-year college or university and at least three years’ experience in a management position with responsibility for direct supervision of subordinate staff; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Working knowledge of Word Processing software;
Inventory software;
Microsoft Outlook internet software and Order processing systems. Experience with ADP applications preferred. - Effective oral and written communication skills.
