To implement, inspire, manage, support, and hold subordinates accountable for customer service, timely and accurate repairs, in a safe and desirable atmosphere. Assisting the Service Manager in meeting forecasted goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority)- Direct management team on solving any customer or employee issues that may occur after hours – on call.
- Facilitate and support service management in review process for technicians.
- Implement, manage changes to and hold employees accountable for following the procedures outlined in the procedure manual.
- Solve and resolve customer disputes.
- Manage follow-up on high profile/timely repair issues.
- Support, counsel and discipline service staff and technicians.
- Manage internal building and equipment budget and safety issues for service.
- Monitor and manage incentives and efficiency among technicians and support staff.
- Manage authorizations for repairs for department.
- Diagnosis, implement and provide training for support staff using tools available.
- Manage technician training.
- Research, follow-up and hold foreman and technicians accountable for comebacks.
- Responsible for housekeeping and safety issues.
- Participate in the interview process for technicians.
- Facilitate, implement, and support tech growth and development.
- Measure, complete and communicate performance of service management staff.
- Manage service vehicle upkeep and maintenance.
- Address IT issues for service department.
- Handle all shop tooling issues – ordering, fixing, etc.
- Follow-up, assist and collect on past due account receivable issues related to service.
- Manage liquid spills on lot/shop.
- Manage the scrap metal account.
- Approve or deny and maintain the schedule for time off request.
- Answer phones for service as needed.
- Regular onsite attendance is required.
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
- Indoor and outdoor environment.
- Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, paint and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple quotes simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate with a wide variety of individuals and handle difficult situations as they arise.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong p.c. skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and preferably ADP Business Systems.
- Strong, proven, leadership, communication, organizational and customer service skills.
- Propensity for detail.
- Ability to type at least 25 wpm on a word processor.
- Ability to carry on simultaneously a variety of duties.
