Base pay range
$39.00/hr - $42.00/hr
Salary: $39 – $42 per hour (based on experience) + $1,000 Hiring Bonus
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our client's team at their new, state‑of‑the‑art baking facility in Oak Creek, WI. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of their production and packaging equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
DailyResponsibilities
- Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on high-speed production and packaging equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems to minimize downtime.
- Execute maintenance activities in compliance with OSHA, SQF, and company safety standards.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to log work orders, track maintenance schedules, and complete assignments efficiently.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) to identify and eliminate recurring equipment issues.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as equipment uptime, response times, and preventive maintenance completion rates.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with conveyor systems, safety circuits, vacuum conveyors, refrigeration systems, heated sealers, motors, gearboxes, VFDs, and PLC‑controlled systems.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Maintain proper lubrication, alignment, and adjustments of mechanical systems.
- Assist in equipment setup, changeovers, and adjustments to ensure smooth production transitions.
- Keep work areas, tools, and spare parts organized and well‑maintained.
- Participate in team huddles and meetings to discuss equipment status and planned maintenance activities.
- Test safety systems and controls to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assist with audits and inspections by providing maintenance records and performance data.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Kaizen events and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities.
- Support new equipment commissioning and testing.
- Train new hires or team members in troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
- Contribute to energy efficiency and waste reduction initiatives.
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, and automated systems, particularly in high-speed packaging environments.
- Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting AC/DC motors, motor controls, and power distribution systems.
- Basic knowledge of PLC diagnostics (Siemens, Allen Bradley) and ladder logic programming.
- Experience working with robotic systems, VFDs, and motion controls.
- Hands‑on experience with rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic systems.
- Minimum 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in food production or high-speed packaging.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and maintenance tracking.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related field preferred.
- Advanced technical certifications (PLC programming, robotics, electrical systems, vibration analysis, etc.) are a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer‑based applications.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
- Bilingual in English & Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Combination of office and plant‑floor environment; hands‑on engagement required.
- 9‑hour shifts, with occasional weekend shifts.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to industrial hazards such as compressed air lines, grinding, cutting, welding equipment, extreme temperatures, noise, and dust.
