Electronics Technician, Electronics Assembler
What You Will Do
The Production Operator has responsibilities associated with mechanical assembly, circuit card assembly, and repairs, performing mechanical assembly and subassembly, circuit board soldering, harnessing, and solder termination operations utilizing assembly process procedures and engineering drawings. This second shift position includes a shift premium.
Training will be held on first shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM). The position is located at headquarters in Oak Creek, WI, reporting directly to the Manager of Electronic Assembly and Support.
How You Will Do It- Performs electrical and/or mechanical assembly and assembles small components.
- Uses small electrical hand tools and soldering iron.
- Hands solder components onto circuit cards.
- Performs wire harnessing.
- Utilizes calipers, torque drivers, torque wrenches, and other hand tools to perform assembly or disassembly of assemblies or sub‑assemblies.
- Utilizes arbor press, drill press, and other equipment for assembly and finishing work.
- Follows shop orders, engineering drawings, or production work instructions.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum two years of soldering experience.
- Fine manual dexterity skills.
- Ability to follow standard written work instructions and comprehend electronic and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Success in the Astronautics solder training program.
- Pass English comprehension test (to meet FAA Repair Station requirements).
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- IPC‑610 solder certification.
- Avionics manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Experience operating SMT, selective/wave solder, conformal coating equipment is a plus.
