CDL A Delivery Truck Driver, Nights

Performance Food service invites applications for an experienced CDL A delivery truck driver for night shifts.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay after training: $85,000 – $110,000+ per year
  • Sign‑on bonus: $7,500 after completion of training (eligible only for candidates without recent Performance Food Group employment)

    Sunday to Thursday nights, dispatch starts at 9 pm and continues until finished

Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. They ensure products arrive on time, in good condition, and serve as the face of the company.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors and co‑workers professionally.
  • Perform all safety checks according to DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Inspect tractor/truck and trailer, report any issues or repairs needed.
  • Drive to and deliver orders according to the predetermined route schedule.
  • Unload products, verify delivery, obtain signatures, and handle payments if required.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Maintain housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock, and trailers, keeping areas clean.
  • Record hours of service and enter logs per federal and state requirements.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience
  • High school diploma, GED, or state‑approved equivalent
  • Valid CDL A license
  • Meet all state licensing and certification requirements
  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past 3 years
  • Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one
  • Capability to hand‑lift and operate two‑wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment; product weight ranges from 10–35 lb, up to 60–90 lb per case
