Sea Mar Community Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) founded in 1978. We are recruiting for the following position:

Dental Assistant I, II, or III - Posting #27431

Hourly Rate: $22.34- $24.28

On-call Dental Assistant position available for our Vancouver - Salmon Creek Dental Clinic. The Dental Assistant will assist the dental provider in the delivery of procedures allowed by the Washington State Dental Practice Act. Responsibilities include assisting the provider in Restorative, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery procedures, and any other procedures allowed by the WA Dental Practice Act.

Maintain records for material safety data sheets (MSDS), spore tests, and inventory of dental supplies. Assist in training new Dental Assistants and organize schedules to generate checklists for maintenance of dental procedures. Candidates with previous orthodontic experience are preferred.

• Applicant must have a valid WA State license, basic life support (BLS) certification, strong organizational skills, dental record experience, and familiarity with computer use.
• Excellent customer service skills. Ability to communicate, read, and write in English and to interpret common written material about dentistry.
• Preferred bilingual in English/Spanish.
• As a Dental Assistant II, must have completed a formal Dental Assistant program at a college, technical institute, or equivalent. A minimum of 6 months of work experience is required. Employees with no formal training must have a minimum of 18 months of work experience in a Dental Assistant position.
• As a Dental Assistant III, must be knowledgeable of proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations including QI. Ability to duplicate and mount radiographs, place temporary restorations, take impressions, pour and trim models, place retraction cord, place matrix bands, perform coronal polish and give fluoride treatments. Two years of working experience required; employees with no formal training must have a minimum of 3 years in a dental assistant role.
