Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Experience working with children preferred
Variable hours to be determined for 176 days per year. Reports to Transportation Director and receives work assignments from the Director, Assistant Director, and/or Building Principals. Shifts (AM, Midday, PM) will be established and assigned by the Transportation Director.
Responsibilities include:
greet students; supervise students and bus environment; emphasize orderly student behavior; circulate, monitor and move students as needed; assure students are following bus behavior expectations; take action to maintain a safe and orderly environment; maintain a clean and safe bus environment; and perform related duties as assigned. Work requires dexterity, flexibility, ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, and the ability to lift or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
Bus monitors assigned to special education students may be required to complete training concerning special needs, such as health problems or handicapping conditions. Pay range begins at $21.78/hour.
