Support students in a contract role where your skills as a Paraprofessional or Behavior Specialist will make a real difference for K-12 learners. Located near Oak Harbor, WA, this opportunity offers a fulfilling experience working one-on-one with students who have mild to moderate Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and require behavioral support. Youll spend your day helping students succeed academically and socially, making a meaningful impact each step of the way.
Responsibilities include:- Providing 1:1 behavior support and academic assistance to students with ASD
- Assisting classroom teachers in implementing individualized education and behavior plans
- Encouraging positive social interactions and reinforcing appropriate behaviors
- Documenting progress and communicating updates to educational staff and caregivers
- Using ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) strategies and other behavioral interventions as needed
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure student needs are met
- Supporting students in a variety of school settings (K-12), promoting a positive school environment
- Prior experience as a Behavior Technician or similar role in Washington state schools
- Any ABA training or demonstrated experience in behavior support/intervention
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children and adolescents
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to adapt to individual student needs and classroom environments
- Availability to work 37.5 hours per week in a contract position running through June 4th, 2027
