Under the direction of the Department Director, the Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations of department services. This individual is decisive, collaborative, open‑minded, team‑focused, wholly in support of the Whidbey Health vision and fully invested in the success of the staff and organization within our community. A qualified Clinical Operations Supervisor will demonstrate the ability to support and further a patient‑centered care culture and provide caring and dedicated leadership to their management team.
The supervisor provides operational leadership to the Manager and may be responsible for designated shifts or segments of the department.
- Works cohesively with the Department Director to provide quality patient care in a Primary Care setting.
- Understands “Just Culture” and is driven to support the team in creating a healthy, supportive work environment.
- Coordinates the various department staff schedules as appropriate with final approval from the Department Director.
- Attends meetings as a Department Representative.
- Provides input and conducts performance evaluation process of staff members.
- Performs quarterly check‑ins with employees.
- Participates in the interview process and provides feedback to the Department Director.
- May conduct staff meetings with the staff members or daily “huddles”.
- Helps to create policies, protocols, and standard work processes for staff in all areas of clinic.
- Delivers information about changes in procedures or processes to other staff within the Department as directed by the Department Director.
- Ensures appropriate staffing and all shifts are covered in conjunction with the Department Director.
- Coordinates computer issues or concerns and reports problems to the IT Department.
- Acts as a liaison with other departments to identify and support problem‑solving.
- Receives and problem solves patient complaints and billing queries.
- Reviews timecards for accuracy, updates timecard edits and signs off payroll as assigned.
- Ability to step in and work clinical staff position or front office check in if staffing levels dictate.

Required active WA licensure from one of the following (compensation driven by years of experience and type of licensure):
- Medical Assistant – Certified (MA‑C)
- Education:
High school diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. - Licensure:
Active WA State MA‑C license. - Certifications:
BLS. - Clinical / Leadership
Experience:
At least 10 years as an MA‑C in clinic setting (RHC preferred) and shown progression of responsibility in a leadership role.
- Education:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Education:
High school diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program. - Licensure:
Active WA State LPN license.
Certifications:
BLS. - Clinical / Leadership
Experience:
At least 10 years as an LPN in clinic setting (RHC preferred) and shown progression of responsibility in a leadership role.

- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. - Licensure:
Active WA State RN license. - Certifications:
BLS. - Clinical / Leadership
Experience:
At least 5 years as an RN in clinic setting (RHC preferred) and shown progression of responsibility in a leadership role.
