Job SummaryAs a sales associate, you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image while helping customers recognize the need for our products and services. You will learn about our offerings and articulate our purpose in a professional, educational, and insightful manner, with a positive and outgoing nature that enjoys serving others.
Duties and Responsibilities- Customer Service
- Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
- Ask questions and listen to customers’ needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise; inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card.
- Provide premier customer service.
- Cooperate and build positive, inclusive, respectful relationships; take accountability for your actions and outcomes.
- Organization
- Maintain store appearance.
- Sales
- Cross‑sell products and know the store layout.
- Make suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on individual needs.
- Upsell products.
- Learn product features; keep up with the latest trends; use company tools and technology to confidently provide product knowledge/specs.
- Use a Point‑of‑Sale system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, and credit/debit cards; count money and return accurate amounts to customers.
- Complete various paperwork, reports, and reconciliations.
- Inventory
- Act as the keeper of merchandise; complete all inventory processes and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed. May participate in periodic inventories.
- Dependability
- Adhere to assigned work schedule; accurately follow through on work assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Product Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
- Experience
- Retail experience preferred but not required.
- Communication Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate with customers, peers, and management; telephone etiquette.
- Mathematical Skills
- Basic math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
- Reasoning Ability
- Ability to multi‑task, remain attentive to customers, and remain flexible to the needs of the business.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.
- Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, standing for at least two consecutive hours.
- May involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders.
- Vision abilities: close vision, color vision, depth perception.
- Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments. Work primarily indoors but may be assigned outdoors.
- Other Skills
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.
Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
