Job Description:

This position is for a large software client. The Senior Cloud Administrator will be responsible for evaluating, designing, and operating the Corporate IT SAS environment. The role involves hands-on server administration, system requirement evaluation, design, implementation, and maintenance of efficient solutions. Responsibilities include developing technical standards, evaluating new products, interfacing with vendors, and collaborating with IT teams to resolve system and application issues.

The Senior Systems Cloud Administrator will manage installation, configuration, upgrades, patches, maintenance, and monitoring of the SAS environment, ensuring security compliance for U.S. national security. Key goals include 100% environment availability, fault and performance management, and enforcing security protocols.

General Responsibilities:

• Create, implement, and document processes for SAS Infrastructure: performance monitoring, problem troubleshooting, capacity planning, landscape design, configuration standards, support, escalation, SLA models, IMAC services, change management, and communication strategies.
• Create and maintain server/application diagrams and workflows.
• Perform incident diagnosis, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
• Manage vulnerabilities, system patching, and maintenance.
• Oversee configuration, testing, installation, and servicing of server components and applications.
• Organize work requests based on priorities and system criticality.
• Manage vendor relationships for evaluation, installation, modification, upgrade, repair, and maintenance of SAS components.
• Serve as SME and consultant to other Infrastructure groups.
• Lead system analysis and design activities, including developing detailed requirements for new solutions.
• Ensure end-user satisfaction.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years in an enterprise System Admin or Cloud Admin role.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Administration and Network Solutions.
• Windows admin skills (Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy).
• Networking experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco ISE, VPN, Aruba Wireless.
• Must be able to go onsite at least 3 times per week in Herndon, VA.
• Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.

Nice to Have Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's in Computer Science.
• Certifications such as MCSE, MCITP, AZ900, AZ104, AZ303/304, AZ-700.
• Linux experience with SUSE, Red Hat, or CentOS.
• Experience with SIEM tools, backups, monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of security guidelines like NIST 800-53 rev 4.
