Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Branch Operations Manager, Traveling Universal Branch Representative assists members in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner, while accurately handling members financial needs. Proficient in cash handling duties, guiding members through loan counseling, all types of new accounts and services through our digital and physical channels. Travels and works at different branch locations based on member service needs.

Qualifications

Two years’ college degree (preferred), and 1-3 years’ experience in a financial institution preferred.

Essential Functions
  • Completes account transactions efficiently with a high level of accuracy ensuring the Credit Union maintains a good image.
  • Educates members on emerging bank/credit union technology and digital solutions such as mobile, online, and ATM to make their banking experience easier.
  • Processes and balances various types of monetary transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and cashing checks within guidelines.
  • Maintains security of cash drawer, negotiable instruments, and credit union documents to ensure confidentiality of members’ accounts to protect members.
  • Maintains a high level of accuracy and security. Meets balancing standards consistently.
  • Processes loan payments, mortgage payments, as well as issues gift/travel cards, and cashier’s check requests.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of all credit union products and services. Identifies financial needs and promotes, recommend, refers and cross‑sells products and services.
  • Identifies and reports fraudulent activity.
  • Meets or exceeds established service goals.
  • Develops and maintains Credit Union member relationships, committing to increased member satisfaction by setting achievable member expectations, assuming responsibility for solving member issues and assuring commitments to members are met. Escalates as needed.
  • Processes account opening and maintenance skills for all new accounts (Consumer, Specialty, Business, IRA, and HSA). Consistently receives minimal audit exceptions from the Membership Officer.
  • Answers questions on basic inquiries for Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
  • Completes special projects or other duties as assigned by the Senior Branch Officer, Branch Manager or Branch Operations Manager.
  • Responds and resolves concerns by partnering with the member.
  • Provides overrides and check approvals when necessary.
  • Research posting errors.
  • Processes consumer loan payoff requests.
  • Work a flexible schedule and to accommodate travel to all branch offices as needed.

  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of members information. Knowledge of security procedures and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union lending products and services to best guide member requests. Knowledge and ability to explain and process all specialty accounts. (i.e., Consumer, Specialty, Business, and all IRA’s)
  • Knowledge of Credit Union policies and branch operations involving cash handling responsibilities. Skilled at all transactions, corrections and properly applies elevated authorization levels.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and reliable transportation to travel to all branch locations.
