Billing Specialist

RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit community mental health center based in Oak Ridge, TN, has an immediate opening for a full-time Healthcare Billing Specialist. The schedule will be weekdays, 8am-4:30pm.

p>The right candidate will join a close-knit billing team following timely, accurate, HIPAA-compliant billing practices that complement the accounting side of the financial services department. The billing team is an integral part of "One Ridgeview".

Requirements ul> li>High school diploma or GED with skills in data entry, claims submission and follow-up. li>Two+ years prior medical/hospital claims and billing experience. li>Excellent organization and communication (written and verbal) skills; mathematical aptitude; sense of discipline; ability to work under minimal supervision. li>Completes work with a sense of urgency and high degree of accuracy.

Exercises discretion and good judgment in communicating account information to third parties. li>Able to work regularly scheduled weekday business hours. /ul> Job Duties ul> li>Medical billing and related activities in a behavioral healthcare environment. li>Working directly with clients and/or third-party payors to ensure that medical billing is accurate, compliant with payors  guidelines, thorough, and timely. li>Performs collections efforts to ensure accounts receivable balances are managed in accordance with target balances.
li>Excellent communication skills.
