Full time, 72 hours per pay period, night shift - every other weekend, 12‑hour shifts 7 pm‑7 am.

Position SummaryProvide clerical and secretarial services to the nursing unit assigned.
Responsibilities- Carries out the secretarial and clerical duties necessary for efficient functioning of the nursing unit assigned.
- Communicates patient requests promptly to the nursing staff.
- Orders and charges for supplies and equipment.
- Schedules procedures and examinations with appropriate departments.
- Notifies consults when ordered (physicians, classes, etc.).
- Maintains the patient record and efficiently operates the computer system.
- Processes patient classification data either manually or via computer.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must provide safe, efficient, and competent care. Must demonstrate competency in unit‑specific functions described in performance continuum or standards.
Successful completion of a unit secretary course is required.
Must be able to read with comprehension and write legibly.
Must be proficient in use of proper grammar.
Qualifications- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of infection control.
- Knowledge of fire and safety regulations.
Secretarial or clerical experience is desired. Previous hospital experience is desired.
Licensure / CertificationCertification in basic life support (CPR) may be required when the unit secretary works in a department where they may be first responder to a cardiopulmonary arrest victim.
