We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious CNC Machinist to support precision manufacturing operations for an industrial manufacturing project within the nuclear sector. This role involves operating manual and CNC machines to produce high‑tolerance components used in critical rotating equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in regulated environments and a strong understanding of machining practices, inspection techniques, and nuclear quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
- Perform in‑process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
- Maintain tight tolerances and surface finishes required for high‑speed rotating equipment.
- Follow safety protocols, contamination control procedures, and cleanroom requirements.
- Document machining operations, inspection results, and material traceability.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve machining issues.
- Ensure compliance with NQA‑1, ASME, and DOE/NRC standards.
- Support continuous improvement and equipment maintenance initiatives.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in manual and CNC machining, preferably in nuclear, automotive, aerospace, or defense industries.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and using precision measurement tools.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and safety awareness.
- Associate’s degree, technical certification, or apprenticeship.
- Experience supporting DOE or NRC‑regulated projects.
- Familiarity with complex systems or high‑speed rotating equipment.
- Knowledge of cleanroom protocols and contamination control.
- Certification in CNC programming or advanced machining techniques.
Job Requirements
- United States citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security clearance; active clearance is a plus.
