We are looking for a passionate and driven Detector Technician to join our team. As a Detector Technician, you will be responsible for processing raw crystal material, building detector cryostat systems, troubleshooting and performing testing.
The Detector Technician will:
- Build radiation detector vacuum systems, including internal electronic components.
- Troubleshoot vacuum and electronic problems.
- Load Ge crystals into cryogenic systems.
- Cleaning, and assemble parts for vacuum assemblies
- Soldering and/or brazing parts
- Operation of helium leak detector, and other vacuum equipment
- Operate vacuum evaporation equipment
- Clean and maintain vacuum equipment
- Fill liquid nitrogen containers
- Cleans and maintains lab area and equipment
- Provide support in all phases of Detector Manufacturing.
- Provide technical support to Customer Service, with occasional customer interaction
- Wet Chemical processing of delicate and sensitive devices
- Sand, lap, clean, and acid etching germanium materials
- Metallization and other coating processes as needed
- Maintain Deionized water system
- Preventative maintenance of all Detector Manufacturing Equipment
- Stock supply cabinets with solvents and acids
Detector Technician Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
- Intermediate level experience with oscilloscopes, volt meters and other test/measurement equipment
- Good knowledge of, and experience with Microsoft Office suite of products and computer data entry
- Must have experience with good soldering practices
- Must show skills and ability to work with intricate and fragile components. High dexterity and attention to detail.
- Must Pass Background Check for Chemical Usage

Salary Minimum: $40,000
Salary Maximum: $60,000
