Position: Quality Assurance Specialist III (3646)

Quality Assurance Specialist III – Oak Ridge, TN

Navarro Research & Engineering, an award‑winning federal contractor, is hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist III to support the Office of Environmental Management (OREM) Quality Assurance Program and Quality Implementation Plan (QIP) requirements.

Primary responsibilities include coordinating OREM Integrated Assessment activities, conducting formal and informal assessments, leading NQA‑1 audits, managing corrective action tracking systems, overseeing safety and health investigations, and developing and maintaining quality assurance program documents.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute the OREM Integrated Assessment Plan/Schedule and external DOE/contractor assessment activities.
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments, including leading Quality Audits as an NQA‑1 Lead Auditor.
  • Support corrective action tracking systems: data entry, retrieval, review, and analysis; compile ES&H and QA reports.
  • Co‑ordinate or assess Integrated Safety Management System verifications for contractors and DOE.
  • Coordinate or assess Operational Readiness Reviews and Readiness Assessments.
  • Administer, maintain, and support assessment and oversight activity tracking systems.
  • Plan, coordinate schedules, participate in teams, and report on assessments.
  • Conduct surveillances, inspections, audits, walk‑throughs, and safety/health investigations.
  • Support the Conduct of Operations Program and Management Self‑Assessments.
  • Develop and implement Quality Assurance Program Plans and related management system descriptions including 10 CFR 830.120 and NQA‑1 documents.
  • Develop organizational procedures or supplemental documents supporting the OREM QIP and EM Quality Assurance Plan (EM‑QA‑001, Rev. 1).
  • Apply causal analysis methodologies.
  • Administer the Quality Assurance database, including maintenance, extraction, and query (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint).
  • Perform data analytics using statistical software.
  • Monitor, validate, verify, and close corrective actions.
  • Collect data for tracking and trending of issues and actions; develop and maintain tracking/trending systems, lessons learned, and supporting programs.
  • Generate integrated reporting of contractor and DOE performance; produce ad‑hoc and monthly status reports.
  • Provide quality improvement support, including planning, scheduling, logistics coordination, technical review, and evidence package preparation to meet EM QA and oversight requirements.
  • Engage in quality control and quality engineering activities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum associate‑level science degree in engineering or related field.
  • Specific training in DOE and industry standards for nuclear quality assurance programs.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience implementing quality assurance programs.
  • Qualified lead auditor in ASQC, NQA‑1, or ISO.
  • Experience supporting at least 10 documented assessments, 2 startup readiness reviews, and 1 accident investigation.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and proficiency with other MS Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Demonstrated experience with technical report preparation and data analysis.
  • DOE L or Q clearance preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship required; this position requires security clearance.

Pay

Base pay range: $90,000.00 – $ per year.
