Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Quality Control Assembly Inspector to join a leading energy and engineering organization onsite in Oak Ridge, TN
. The assembly inspector will support advanced manufacturing operations while ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of mission‑critical mechanical assemblies.
- Perform quality inspections on mechanical and electromechanical assemblies using precision measurement tools.
- Verify critical dimensions, torque requirements, labeling, traceability, and workmanship against specifications and inspection plans.
- Identify, document, and communicate defects while maintaining accurate quality and compliance records.
- Support calibration activities, measurement system verification, and inspection tool maintenance.
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and quality teams to ensure assemblies meet requirements before release and to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- High school diploma + 5 years of experience in mechanical assembly, quality inspection, manufacturing, or related
- Experience with CMM, hands on manufacturing, using measurement equipment, and assembly or dimensional inspection
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and understand basic GD&T principles
- Knowledge of assembly processes, fastener requirements, calibration practices, and quality inspection procedures
- Must be able to pass a government background check and hold an active Top Secret or DOE Q security clearance
- Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000
