As a General Ledger Accountant, you’ll be a key contributor in a finance organization undergoing meaningful modernization. You’ll support accurate and timely financial reporting while helping design and refine the accounting processes that will carry us into our next chapter.
What You’ll Do- Own key GL reconciliations and system interfaces, ensuring accuracy and quick resolution of discrepancies.
- Lead monthly reconciliations of critical account balances with a focus on quality, transparency, and timeliness.
- Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving variances.
- Record, review, and maintain GL entries throughout month‑end close.
- Monitor GL activity for unusual or unexpected transactions and escalat findings as needed.
- Prepare and post month‑end journal entries across multiple areas to support reliable financial reporting.
- Support accounting for fixed assets, capital projects, leases (ASC 842), and inventory.
- Partner with business process owners to ensure operational activities are accurately captured in financial systems and results, strengthening the connection between operations and accounting.
- Drive process improvements and automation opportunities as we modernize core finance operations.
- Evaluate, recommend, and help implement new technologies to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure audit readiness and smooth execution.
- Support internal control assessments and SOX compliance activities.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to accounting policies, controls, and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- 2‑4 years of month‑end close and GL accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting processes.
- Experience preparing audit requests and supporting SOX compliance is a plus.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and propose solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across departments.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Smart View, and Oracle Fusion (or similar ERP).
- Interest or experience in automation tools or accounting technology modernization is a plus.
