The Category Manager is a key member of the North America Go‑To‑Market team role requires strategic thinking, exceptional execution and the ability to translate data insight into clear business recommendations. The successful candidate will be a storyteller, a hands‑on problem solver, and a collaborator who partners with internal and external stakeholders to achieve sustained commercial growth.
What You’ll Be Doing- Provide category input and understanding to shape the Company’s annual operating plan and commercial strategy, continuously reviewing channel plans and execution impact.
- Adapt reporting practices to deliver proactive opportunities for the category or customer, shape QBRs, and support marketing (portfolio, innovation, gap analysis) from a GTM category lens.
- Collaborate with go‑to‑market channel partners and cross‑functional Customer Teams to shape strategic and executional plans and the Category elements of the Joint Business Plan and Customer Growth Plan.
- Identify and implement category‑specific execution plans that advance McCain customer engagement and drive sustained commercial growth in line with the company strategic plan.
- Influence targets (e.g., listings, distribution, space, layout, pricing, promotions) for new propositions and changes to existing propositions to ensure commercial and category relevance for specific customers.
- Monitor, track and evaluate operational dimensions of sales execution in the category, supporting target setting and planning across North America and channel lenses.
- Deliver commercial and sales insight and value‑added analysis to support management decision‑making and execution.
- Adhere to commercial controls and processes that support consistent sales execution, ensuring an integrated and coordinated approach across all commercial processes.
- Report analysis and action plans related to the category and share results with Channel Managers, Channel Leads and Sales counterparts.
- Contribute to effective implementation and tracking of category‑specific plans and initiatives aligned with annual and long‑term plans to support McCain’s overall success.
- Build and enable commercial strategy through end‑to‑end plan creation and delivery relevant to the specific category and customer.
- Seek and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decisions and align others with the organization’s overall strategy and execution.
- Develop innovative ideas that stretch the organization and push industry boundaries.
- Deliver in line with pace and timing to meet customer expectations and support company commitments.
