Job PurposeThe Vice President, Corporate Controller at Worldpac is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization’s core financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, tax, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions. Reporting directly to the CFO, the VP Corporate Controller ensures the financial integrity and regulatory compliance of the company while driving continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems.
This role manages a large team of managers and staff.
- Accounting, Financial Reporting & Operations
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, financial statement preparation, and multi-entity consolidations in accordance with US GAAP.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Manage and optimize financial systems and processes to support high-volume transactions and business growth.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings and implementation of recommendations.
- Internal Controls & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor changes in accounting and financial regulations, ensuring company-wide adherence.
- Establish, review, and update accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Tax
- Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, including federal, state, local, and international tax filings.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and authorities.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting, remittance, and planning.
- Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
- Direct the AR and AP functions, ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely processing of high-volume transactions.
- Monitor aging reports, collections, and implement effective credit and vendor management policies.
- Oversee payment processing, reconciliations, and dispute resolution.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a change agent, driving adoption of best practices and new technologies.
- Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, building professional credibility and trust.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
