Position Overview:
As a Director of Strategic Sales – Agent Network, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and expanding the company’s client base. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with potential agent partners, closing new business, and developing strategies to enhance the company’s market presence within non-LEMAN countries.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential strategic agent partners, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
- Analyze market data to develop insights into customer needs, preferences, and pain points.
- Identify and prospect potential agent opportunities through various channels such as networking, referrals, cold calling, and attending industry events.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of leads for potential business opportunities.
- Develop and deploy commercial trade lane strategies, supporting the commercial strategic direction and maximize overall profitability.
- Assist in the development of standardized trade lane products, including the expansion of the existing product/mode suite.
- Obtain quotes for the Pricing Team to fulfill.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with existing agent partners to foster customer loyalty and repeat business.
- Establish connections with key decision-makers within target agent partners to understand their US-based needs.
- Align development strategy with key internal stakeholders.
- Develop compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches tailored to address client needs and showcase the company’s services.
- Present solutions effectively to potential clients and address any questions or objections they may have.
- Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure that the proposed solutions align with the company’s capabilities and resources.
- Provide accurate and relevant information to the operations team for seamless execution of services.
- Lead negotiations, utilizing the Pricing Team for guidance, with Agent Partners to arrive at mutually beneficial terms and contract agreements.
- Ensure that contracts are well-drafted and compliant with company policies.
- Develop and implement a sales strategy to achieve business growth targets and expand the company’s market share.
- Set clear sales goals, monitor progress, and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and competitive developments to adapt the company’s strategy accordingly.
- Provide regular reports on sales activities, progress against targets, and market insights to the senior management.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Logistics, or related field.
- Proven success in business development within the freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain industry.
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding services, international trade, and logistics operations.
- Experience in operating within and developing an Agent network.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Relationship-building skills with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Analytical mindset for interpreting market data and trends.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
- Minimum 1-5 years sales experience in International Freight Forwarding.
- A track record of successful business development.
- Own and drive personal car to visit customers.
