Position SummaryThe Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for underground utility construction projects. This full-time position requires a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional who can collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
Key ResponsibilitiesReview construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
Develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks as necessary
Solicit, analyze, and negotiate quotes from vendors and subcontractors
Prepare and submit complete bid proposals in a timely manner
Work closely with project managers to ensure a smooth project transition
Track bid outcomes and contribute to the refinement of estimating processes
5+ years of estimating experience in underground utility or civil construction
Familiarity with public works projects preferred
Proficient in interpreting construction plans and specifications
Strong skills in Excel and estimating software (HCSS Heavy Bid a plus)
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and team-driven
