Under direct supervision of the Engineering Manager, the designer/engineer will work as a full-time, hourly employee of Hi-Tech. The designer/engineer should be capable of working with minimal supervision after a relatively short ramp-up period. The position requires primarily working at a workstation developing 3D CAD models/drawings of truck bodies and documenting as-fabricated parts, but frequent trips to the manufacturing areas will be required throughout the day.

• Develop CAD models and drawings of fire truck bodies and ancillary equipment
• Coordinate with shop personnel on parts they need to complete the project
• Promote and maintain budget and schedule as set forth by management
• Optimize designs for SWAP-C (space, weight & power – costs)
• Maintain engineering documentation needed to replicate projects
• Depending on experience, perform engineering analysis (FEA, hand calculations, simulation) where applicable to ensure adequate design margins are met

• Pass Pre-Employment Drug screen
• Have Driver's License
• Computer literate including usage of MS Windows 11 file system, MS Word and MS Excel and other commonly used Windows desktop software
• Knowledge of Solid Works 3D CAD design and drawing development
• Understand drafting principles in accordance with ASME Y14.100
