Base Pay Range
$17.35/hr - $20.00/hr
Summary
Child and Family Agency is a 501(c)(3) non‑profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate care for children, adolescents, and their families. Founded in 1972, we serve the Southeast Connecticut region with a commitment to personal and educational growth for children in our care.
We are currently seeking dedicated, passionate, and energetic individuals to work in our Early Childhood Development Centers located in Groton and New London, CT. Positions are available for Teacher Assistants, Infant and Toddler Teachers, and Substitute Teacher Assistants.
As an Early Childhood Educator you will support a highly skilled teaching team and help create a safe, positive learning environment that fosters personal and educational growth in young minds.
Duties
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
- Plan individual and group age‑appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
- Maintain frequent communications with other staff and parents as necessary.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development to create a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed.
Requirements
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field or a Child Development Associate Certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional child‑care experience.
- High energy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and foster a team environment.
- Strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
