Maintenance Mechanic ; 2nd Shift

Overview

Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:00pm). Must be willing to train on 1st shift (6:00am - 2:00pm) for the first few weeks. 2nd shift qualifies for a $2/hr shift differential.

• Perform mechanical inspections, repairs, and maintenance on all machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and respond to equipment errors or failures.
• Repair or reproduce parts using welders and machine tools as needed, following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
• Repair and maintain equipment such as die cutters, web presses, inserting machines, conveyors, and related systems with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Dismantle, examine, and reassemble machines or equipment to diagnose and correct malfunctions.
• Test operate machines to verify correction of malfunctions; ensure proper lubrication and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including handling of hazardous waste and lockout/tagout, and wear required hearing and eye protection.
• Participate in special projects and other related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of equipment control modes and diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and some electrical/electronic issues.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications to isolate malfunctions.

• Education:
  
  Associate degree or trade school certificate in a related discipline preferred.
• Computer literacy required.
• Ability to operate a cutting torch or welding equipment preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment required.
• Strong attention to detail; ability to read blueprints and fabricate parts to exact specifications.
• Ability to operate CNC milling machines and CNC plasma cutting equipment preferred.
• Experience in the printing industry required.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $22.89 - $37.13 / hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. The total compensation package may include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
