ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE
Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.
Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

- Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store
- Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
- Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals
Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
- Engage with guests to assist with their needs and solve issues.
- Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target.
- Execute daily tasks to achieve goals aligned with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing backroom, arranging merchandise, and setting up promotional signs for GM areas.
- If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.
- Execute processes such as price changes, merchandise setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed.
- Learn how operational procedures impact inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
- Know store resources, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Work safely; follow safety policies and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking and packing orders, delivering pickup orders) while complying with applicable laws.
- All other duties based on business needs.

Basic requirements and working conditions:
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- Ability to climb ladders
- Move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds
- Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions, including Drive-Up and carryout
- Mobility required for the duration of a shift
