The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a critical role in ensuring our customers receive an A+ experience. The CSR reports to the Store Manager and is responsible for welcoming and servicing customers, making appointments, answering phones, pressing garments, and ensuring items are ready for pickup.
Essential Job Functions- Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats, and in person; communicate clearly and adapt style to suit each customer.
- Use all systems to manage the customer flow and deliver a five‑star experience.
- Meet all service vows—Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs, and Be There for all customers, including operational checklist tasks.
- Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers at one time and contribute to the store’s Five‑Star Customer Service achievement.
- Resolve customer concerns confidently; know when to escape and partner with leadership.
- Explain how alterations can improve a dress for the event in partnership with Alterations.
- Promote all alterations services and personalization options.
- Maintain store standards (clean, organized, promotional readiness) to support a flawless shopping experience.
- Maintain high dress code standards per policy.
- Greet and escort all alterations customers to and from alterations for appointments.
- Press, steam, and spot clean all merchandise.
- Follow quality‑control guidelines and inspect all garments before final delivery to the customer.
- Build long‑term customer relationships to meet and exceed satisfaction and loyalty.
- Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick‑ups, and first‑quality standards.
- Support cash wrap behaviors and process transactions accurately.
- Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager when a customer issue cannot be resolved.
- Maintain a clean and well‑organized alterations room.
- Perform duties and tasks as assigned by store management.
The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit for extended periods; reach for tools with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; bend, twist, and stand; move throughout the store; and talk to and hear customers. The job involves manual dexterity for POS operations, steaming garments, accessing computers, and performing fittings to standards. The employee must lift/move up to 10 pounds and read electronic devices for prolonged periods.
Education& Credentials
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1‑2 years of prior retail experience in apparel or specialty store.
- Prior sewing experience is helpful.
- Prior experience with computerized POS systems.
