We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Maths Tutor to join the team at HMP Stocken. Working with small groups of prison-based learners, you will support individuals in developing their maths skills, knowledge and confidence, helping them work towards their long-term goals and future aspirations.

You will deliver high-quality, engaging Functional Skills Maths sessions from Entry Level 1 up to Level 2, ensuring that all learners have clear training plans, appropriate support, and access to high-quality learning experiences. You will play a key role in motivating learners, maintaining high standards, and helping each individual reach their full potential.

• Deliver Functional Skills Maths sessions (Entry Level 1 - Level
  2) to small groups of learners.
• Create and maintain individual learning plans to support progression.
• Use a wide range of teaching and learning methods to engage and motivate learners.
• Provide appropriate advice, guidance, and support throughout the learning journey.
• Ensure high standards of quality, compliance and safeguarding are upheld.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Minimum Grade 4/C in GCSE Maths (or equivalent).
• Ability to deliver Functional Skills Maths up to Level 2.
• Strong subject knowledge and experience within Maths delivery.
• Experience delivering training or supporting learner progression.
• Ability to utilise a variety of teaching methods to engage diverse learner groups.

• A teaching or assessing qualification (e.g. PTLLS/AET, DTLLS, TAQA, Cert Ed).
• Experience working in a secure environment (not essential).
• Willingness to work towards a teaching or assessing qualification if not already held.

Support will be provided as part of the probationary period.
