Librarian – Stock & Reader Development Lead
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Librarian to join our Community Access Libraries team as Librarian – Stock & Reader Development Lead. This is a key professional role within Living Well Rutland, leading the development of library collections and driving reader development and engagement across Rutland’s four libraries and outreach offer.
About you- A qualification in Librarianship, Information Services Management, or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong experience in library stock management, including acquisition, bibliographic services and collection promotion
- Experience of reader development, outreach or community engagement activity
- Experience of working in partnership and supporting service development
- A creative, proactive and user‑focused approach to library service delivery
- Working with the Library Team Leader to develop library services with a focus on collections, reader development and community engagement
- Managing and developing library stock, including acquisition, supplier coordination and promotion of collections
- Leading reader development, outreach and engagement activity across library sites and community settings
- Providing professional guidance to colleagues to support consistent delivery of outreach, engagement and promotional activity
Your duties will include supporting the development of Rutland’s library collections and reader engagement offer, and you will be based at Oakham Library but may need to travel between all four library sites. A full UK driving licence is required, and occasional weekend working may be required.
Additional informationWe are also advertising for a Librarian – Systems & Operations Lead. Candidates may apply for either or both part‑time posts, and the roles may potentially be combined into a single full‑time post if a suitable candidate is found.
