Are you a systems and operations professional who enjoys improving how library services work behind the scenes?
We are looking for a confident and organised Librarian to join our Community Access Libraries team as Librarian – Systems & Operations Lead. This role is central to ensuring the smooth, reliable and effective delivery of library services across Rutland’s libraries and community offer.
Working closely with the Library Team Leader and colleagues across the service, you will lead on library systems, operational processes and service data, helping ensure the service runs efficiently and continues to evolve to meet customer needs.
About you- A qualification in Librarianship, Systems Management or Data Science, or relevant experience in library systems, digital services or operational service delivery
- Experience of library systems, operational service systems or digital service delivery environments
- Strong analytical skills with experience of using data to support reporting and service improvement
- Confidence working with digital systems, infrastructure and service workflows
- A proactive, problem‑solving approach with strong attention to detail
As the Librarian – Systems & Operations Lead, you will ensure the effective operational delivery of library services across Rutland. Your duties will include:
- Working with the Library Team Leader to develop library services with a focus on systems, operational delivery, data and service performance
- Leading the development, maintenance and effective use of the library management system and associated digital systems, including public IT facilities and customer‑facing technology across library sites
- Managing, analysing and interpreting library data and key performance information
- Providing professional guidance to colleagues to support consistent delivery of operational processes, service standards and customer‑facing systems
We are also advertising for a Librarian – Stock & Reader Development Lead. Candidates are welcome to apply for either or both part‑time posts, and we would consider combining the roles into a single full‑time post for the right candidate.
Please noteThis role is based at Oakham Library but requires flexible working across all four library sites. A full UK driving licence is required to enable travel between sites. Occasional weekend work may be required.
The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.
